We invite all high school
teenagers to join us!
Our parish Youth Ministry
program works to foster the total personal development
and spiritual growth of each young person. Jesus brings
us to a love that illuminates everything it comes
in contact with. We in turn are called to bring the
"light of Christ" to the world. We strive
to build a youth community that actively plays a role
in the parish and larger community. And we have fun
doing so!
To teens... Youth Ministry
invites you to meet others to: share life, experience
community, get in touch with the sacred, and have
fun, all done in a youth focused arena. We care about
you and have a place for you. You will have a great
experience!
Confirmation preparation
is woven into our high school youth ministry program.
It is a two-year process with the sacrament conferred
to tenth grade students as the norm. Older students
or those with special circumstances should contact
the program director at (949) 673-2719 to discuss
your situation. The program is designed to provide
candidates with an opportunity to develop and deepen
their sense of belonging to the parish and the larger
church; deepen their personal commitment to Jesus
and their faith; help them review, clarify, and expand
their knowledge of Catholic Christianity; and explore
ways they can become active ministers within the faith
community after they are confirmed.
Preparation for confirmation
includes an individual interview, attendance at our
youth ministry meetings, a confirmation retreat, selection
of a sponsor, and the desire to grow in relationship
with God in the OLMC faith community expressed through
regular participation at Mass and in community
service.
High School Youth Ministry
meets Sunday evenings following our 5 PM Mass from
6-7:30 PM during the school year. We start with a
meal and social time every week, followed with a 60-minute
meeting.
