High School Youth Ministry and Confirmation
In response to Jesus’ command to go and “make disciples of all nations,” we invite all high school students to come to know “Jesus in our Midst,” experiencing the peace, joy and changed life which accompanies this recognition. We achieve this by incorporating an informational and formational learning model, addressing the age-appropriate needs of each student. Through the work of the Holy Spirit we are “bringing into being” the whole person by addressing their moral, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs; taking them where they are and inviting them step by step into a life of Grace. Participants are nurtured through a deep sense of prayer and Catholic thought – leading them to active parish participation and community service.
Ninth and tenth grades meet weekly Sunday evenings September through May for Confirmation preparation through our comprehensive parish youth ministry program! All high school sessions (with dinner) are held from 6-7:15 p.m. in the parish hall following our 5 p.m. “youth friendly” Mass. Students in eleventh and twelfth grades are invited to participate in leadership training and “peer ministry.”
Each meeting concludes with prayer and reflection.
